Dr. Angela Kyparissis receives national recognition through the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD®!
Laval -- The INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD, one of the most prestigious book award programs globally for independent authors, publishers, and illustrators, recognized The Dancing Darlings by Angela Kyparissis, Ph.D. as a distinguished favorite in the Picture Books – All Ages category.
The competition is judged by experts from different aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. Selected IPA Award Winners and Distinguished Favorites are based on overall excellence.
The Dancing Darlings by Angela Kyparissis, Ph.D. is a children’s book from The Little Darlings series. It tells the story of a pair of dance-loving siblings as their evening at the Darling Village dance takes a silly and unexpected turn, with their parents out looking for them in the forest. This fun and colourful story is designed to expose small children to empathy – how their actions, even unintentional ones, can influence how others feel – all while creating a positive atmosphere where they can laugh at the silliness of the whole adventure. It is perfect for ages 0 to 8.
In 2025, the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD saw participation from journalists, well established authors, and small, medium, and large publishers across the globe, including those residing in Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States.
